Dear Campers,
At Spring Lake Campground, our central focus is to provide you and your loved ones with an experience you will cherish for a lifetime. Our mission is to bring back nostalgic memories from a childhood camping, to share a place to create memories for your kids or create new adventures! As the gateway to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Refuge, we want Spring Lake to not only be a sanctuary for wildlife, but a peaceful oasis for our campers. Spring Lake Campground has been providing this unique experience since the 1940’s. A camping trip spent here will be like stepping back in time when life was much simpler. Spring Lake Campground is more than just a place to park your camper or pitch your tent, it’s a vintage camping experience you will never forget. A few highlights we are known for: excellent fishing early in the summer (as lake levels vary and as the lily pads as lotus plants fill in, fishing becomes more limited), for painted turtles laying their eggs in June, kayaking through the forest of blooming lotus mid summer, migratory birds and fall leaves throughout October, direct access to the Great River bike trail and unlimited beautiful sunsets over the lake! Note, the lake is not known for swimming or sandy beaches; it’s known for plant and animal life.
